Parikia & West Paros

Port-town life, Antiparos crossings and a western coast that saves its best argument for evening.

Parikia is where most visitors first meet Paros, then leave too quickly for Naousa. Staying reveals a proper island town behind the ferry traffic: the old lanes around the Frankish Castle, bakeries, waterfront tables and neighbourhoods that continue beyond the port. South of town, the west coast opens towards Antiparos through Punda, Agia Irini and smaller stretches of shore shaped by wind, kitesurfing and long sunset views. Hotels are more dispersed than in Naousa, so a car remains useful. The reward is more room, easier access to Antiparos and evenings that feel less organised around being seen.

Why stay in Parikia & West Paros?

The west offers a more practical and less performative Paros. Parikia provides shops, restaurants, ferries and enough year-round life to feel like a town rather than a summer set. Further south, Punda places Antiparos within a short crossing, while Agia Irini and the surrounding coast give hotels more land and separation than Naousa allows. The wind can be strong and beaches here are less consistently celebrated than those in the north, but the coastline has its own uses: kitesurfing, sunset swimming and easy movement between the two islands. Stay in town for walkability; move south when water, privacy and hotel space matter more.

Mythic Paros

Why stay here

Mythic sits above Agia Irini, facing west across the Antiparos channel. Its 40 adults-only rooms and suites use sun-baked stone, dark timber and handmade furniture to create a warmer, more bohemian atmosphere than Paros’s usual white-on-white formula. An art gallery adds cultural weight, while the infinity pool gives the sunset a shared audience each evening. Parikia remains close enough for port-town restaurants, but the hotel has enough food, wellness and outdoor space to hold the day independently. It belongs here as the west coast’s complete hillside stay: less intimate than Seesoo, but considerably more self-contained.
